Kunshan Hosts 2025 Coffee Industry Investment Promotion Conference

On May 16, the 2025 Kunshan Coffee Industry Investment PromotionConference was held to invite global partners to jointly develop a vibrant, world-class coffee industry. The event welcomed Adriano Giacomet, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Brazil in China; Oscar Felipe Rueda, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Colombia in China; Jerry Weng, Chairman of the Coffee and Beverage Committee of the China National Food Industry Association; as well as Kunshan municipal leaders.

Speakers highlighted Kunshans emergence as a coffee innovation and consumption hub. Representatives from Indonesias Salim Group, one of the countrys largest food conglomerates, announced plans to expand their business in Kunshan, covering green beans, roasted products, and natural coconut beverages.

Party Secretary Chen Liyan of CPC Kunshan Municipal Committee noted that the city is leveraging opportunities such as the Belt and Road Initiative and integrated development ofYangtze River Delta to build a comprehensive coffee industry chainfrom global sourcing and trading to roasting, branding, and cultural integration. Kunshan aims to establish itself as the Capital of the International Coffee Industry and a signature destination for coffee culture.

During the event, Kunshan released its three-year action plan to position the city as a the Capital of the International Coffee Industryfrom 2025 to 2027, targeting a trillion-yuan scale and a strong cultural brand identity. The design for Chinas first parrot-themed Coffee Museum was unveiled, and a new theme song titled Moments with Youwas introduced.

Additionally, the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation signed agreements with eight major Kunshan coffee traders, and the Kunshan Import and Export Food Inspection Service Center officially began operations. The 2025 Kunshan International Coffee Industry Expo was also held concurrently.
