Qiandeng Pork Rice Dumplings

Having enjoyed a good reputation for thousands of years, Qiandeng pork rice dumpling, a local and traditional festival snack, wraps a moderately rich taste and pleasant aroma in a beautiful shape. For each Dragon Boat Festival over the past 2,000 years, rural families in regions south of the Yangtze River have been making and eating rice dumplings wrapped in reed leaves. This tradition is said to be in honor of Qu Yuan (c. 340 BC-278 BC), a patriotic Chinese poet during the Warring States period. A total of four shops in Qiandeng Ancient Town sell rice dumplings, among which the “Yi Zhi Ding” rice dumpling is the most popular one.
